Do this and you’ll never be forgotten

Have you ever wished you could become so important that nobody ever forgets you?

Maybe you have, maybe you haven’t.

But today, I’ve come to tell you the one little yet great thing you can do to never be forgotten in this life even if you aren’t a celebrity.

Yes.

You don’t have to be famous before you remain indelible in anyone’s memory.

And no, you don’t even need to break anyone’s heart or offer them the best sex they’ve never had or even give them the highest sum of money they’ve never received.

Just do this one thing I’m about to share with you and anyone you meet will always remember you even if they meet you again after a decade.

Before we get to it, let me share you a quick story:

On Monday, I was on my way back from work when the bus I boarded broke down along the road just after Maryland bus stop in Ikeja.

We were all stranded.

The driver and the conductor asked all of us to alight so they could fix us up in another buses.

If you’re in Lagos, I’m sure you must have experienced this.

As I was saying, we all alighted.

And after throwing blames on the driver, we resigned to our fate.

As I stood with other passengers waiting for the next bus that would pull up and rescue us, I saw her.

She was slender, petite, with a calm kinda beauty.

You know what I mean?

Those beautiful faces you may not notice at first glance until you pay more attention and then it clicks.

That was how this lady was.

But that wasn’t what struck me about her.

It wasn’t even her demeanour or her outfit.

It was the fact that she looked familiar.

I kept resisting the urge to walk up to her to ask her if she worked around where I worked or lived around my area.

After many stealthy glances, I took the bold step and walked up to her.

“Excuse me, please,” I began. “Do you work around Idi-Iroko bus stop?”

She looked at me and smiled then her face clicked.

She was who I thought she was. And as the realization hit me, I said it aloud:

“You’re the lady whose dress I complimented months ago, right?”

She smiled and nodded. She remembered me too.

She remembered I was the lady who spoke to her just when we were about to cross the road.

The suit dress she wore that day to work was too beautiful to be ignored and I just couldn’t help but leave her with many compliments.

I even asked her where she got it and the price too.

Trust me, the dress was really a standout piece, and considering my love for clothes like that, I couldn’t help it.

That was how Miss Fine Dress lady and I chatted some more and got to know each other’s names, workplace, residential areas, and all.

Now, back to my reason for sharing this story.

Why do you think I was able to remember that lady among the hundreds of Lagosians I see every day?

Her outfit!

She wasn’t just wearing a beautiful dress.

She wore something that stood her out and made me look more than twice.

You know even what burst my brain?

She wore the dress to work. Not even an international business meeting but work!

You don’t have to wait until you have a special occasion before you wear that fine outfit you’ve been saving for a special day.

Wear it now. Wear it today. Wear it to work, church, mosque, school, or anywhere and let everyone see you.

It’ll transform you into a masterpiece that will always be remembered.

Always.
